As an Assistant Teacher for Tangram, our nonpublic separate day school for students with autism, you will be responsible for providing instruction to individual learners and small groups utilizing applied behavior analysis methodology and completing program management tasks to support that instruction. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:
High School diploma or GED and at least one (1) year experience working with children and families preferably in a school setting. Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred. For Assistant Teachers funded by DHR, after six months in position, must obtain Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioner certification. Experience working with students diagnosed with autism required. Experience utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis and Verbal Behavior methodologies required. Must be able to work independently, take the initiative or act without being urged to complete projects and/or work, and flexible to work effectively in an environment that is rapidly growing and changing.
