We are seeking a motivated, self-driven individual looking for a position as an Assistant Product/Category Manager. The position will be based in our corporate office located in Cordova, TN.

Assistant Product/Category Manager - Cordova, TN

Full Time - Exempt

The Assistant Product/Category Manager will support the Product Management team by performing the below duties and responsibilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Product Managers to develop strategies and support the product development process
  • Research and analyze current market trends to identify customer needs and requirements
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors and key internal business partners i.e., Operations, Marketing, Replenishment, Accounts Payables, etc.
  • Generate ad hoc reporting and analytics for decision making
  • Work directly with Product Manager to track and communicate all product changes
  • Manage the annual returns process, including reconciliation of credits
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or related field or equivalent work experience is required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years' of retail-merchandising-purchasing experience preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing environment
  • Strong retail foundation, vendor management and analytical skills

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of and ability in using various software applications, primarily Excel and Access
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Sharp financial acumen - ability to apply business math to understand margins, GMROI, and other performance indicators
  • Attention to detail, and strong analytical skills to handle and interpret large volume of data
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, with little or no supervision, and meet deadlines
